Our curriculum is based on a sound understanding of literacy and numeracy. We connect all of our curriculum areas through our localised curriculum. Each year we have a schoolwide theme which covers the 8 learning areas of the Te Mataiaho/ NZ Curriculum. Each class investigates different parts of the theme based on the students interests. We use the Learner competencies and key competencies to develop the skills to investigate and inquire. (I have a picture of these competencies) We use our local environment, local and NZ history and local resources to base our learning. We incorporate our Taura Whiri as part of our learning. We are an Enviroschool and continue to develop our wetland (Te Repo) with the students.
2024 West End Te Kura Ō Mōrere is investigating Whenua- Our land.
